DESCRIPTION:Program Details\n \nGuest Speaker – Dr. Raj Echambadi\, CEG 1989 Mech\, President of Illinois Institute of Technology.\nRaj Echambadi became the 10th president of Illinois Institute of Technology in August 2021. \nFrom 2017 to 2021 Echambadi served as the Dunton Family Dean of D’Amore-McKim School of Business at Northeastern University. Under his leadership\, D’Amore-McKim has become widely recognized for moving beyond traditional business silos and for embracing cross-disciplinary perspectives in both research and teaching. Programmatic innovations include the “MBA x” program\, “MS x” program\, combined undergraduate majors\, and work-integrated degrees with business partners; each of these help students and learners develop multidisciplinary perspectives by blending their business studies with non-business areas of expertise\, such as computer science or experiential design. During his tenure\, Echambadi created an Office of Student Engagement\, Affinity\, and Inclusion at D’Amore-McKim to foster better on-campus experiences for students and launched several programs—Building Belonging Fellows\, Pathfinders\, Peer Affinity Cohorts—in order to build an inclusive community and cultivate a culture of belonging at the school. \nPrior to joining Northeastern in August 2017\, Echambadi served for eight years in various roles\, including as the Alan J. and Joyce D. Baltz Professor and the senior associate dean of strategic innovation\, at Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. DESCRIPTION:Program Details\n \nGuest Speaker – Satyan Parameswaran\, CEG 1992 ECE\, President\, Information Technology at UPS\nSatyan is responsible for all the technology used in the UPS package centers\, hubs\, scanning\, automation\, retail access points\, international regulatory compliance\, aviation security\, automotive\, telematics\, preload and on-road technology. He is responsible for the technology that helps UPS deliver ~24 million packages every day. \nSatyan began his UPS career in 2003 as Lead Application Developer and progressed through a variety of roles to Vice President\, in the Information Technology Customer and Billing Group. In this role\, Satyan was responsible for billing\, revenue management\, revenue analytics\, profit planning\, and the data exchange suite of applications that handle approximately $1.2 billion each week across several countries and business units. He also served on the UPS Architecture Board for solution architecture governance. \nHe is also responsible for leading work with the industry recognized ORION (On-Road Integrated Optimization and Navigation) and HEAT (Harmonized Enterprise Analytics Tool) programs. HEAT recently was recognized with a CIO100 award for 2021. \nPrior to joining UPS\, Satyan gained I.T. experience with leading consulting firms working for clients in the U.S.\, Latin America and Europe covering logistics\, credit cards\, retail merchandising and insurance domains. He led an I.T. team that helped launch revolving credit cards by a major U.S. credit card provider in Latin American countries. \nEarlier in his career\, Satyan worked for Indchem-ATL\, a biomedical engineering company specializing in ultra sound scanners\, CT scanners\, Defibrillators and intensive cardiac care monitoring instruments. \nSatyan is a recognized innovator with patents in the field of fraud detection\, mobile fund exchange and statistical anomaly detection. \nSatyan is a distinguished architect who serves as a board member for the Architect Certification Panel for The Open Group\, an independent architecture practice organization. \nSatyan has an undergrad degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering from College of Engineering\, Guindy\, India.
